Nesting Scarlett Doll

There are three characters from the movie that will come to life in this set of nesting dolls. Rhett Butler , Scarlett and I'll let you guess the third.

Here's a quick snap shot of the beginning of where I've gotten so far.
And to my worries today, in the words of the great southern lady herself,
" 'I won't think of it now. I can't stand it now. I'll think of it later.' "

Doctors Excuse

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted new art. My oldest has been quite sick with HS purpura. A kind of scary condition that is hopefully temporary.

I will be back soon with a fresh batch of artful goodness.

Hugs,

Favorite Things

A couple of my favorite things:
My chicken lamp

My Whiteclad Icebox.
My grandmother's sewing machine and stand.

P.S.
That's my grandmother in the small picture on the sewing machine holding a jug of wine she made. Muscadine of course.

Capture A moment Art Journaling

One of the things that I enjoy doing during down time is art journaling. It's a great way to record a trip, or just everyday life. From watching the kids play at McDonald's

to record special moments and places on a trip.

And what a great piece to hand down to your heirs than a illustrated journal that tells the story of your experiences.

Sunrise

from the parking deck at Coca-Cola. Of course this was not taken today. It's raining and overcast today. Which it might surprise you to know I prefer. I love rainy weather... although the traffic stinks!

Getting Creative in My pajamas

I spent a lovely two weeks of snacking on holiday food, snuggling with my little ones while we watched the classic holiday tales, painting, shopping and more snuggling. What a lucky girl I am. Here's what came from the creative bits of pajama time.

Acrylic on canvas (larger than I normally work)

A new series of watercolors for the Gone with The Wind Gift Shop at Stately Oaks.

A chicken I bought made of wood gets painted black and chalk to add that cozy country look.

And a steal on a big wooden tag for Christmas decor turns into a motivational sign over my desk!
