Egg Hunting and an awakening

I woke Good Friday morning at 2:30 AM, as awake as I would be in the middle of the day And could think of nothing but that I wanted to paint. So I did just that. And by 6:30... I was satisfied.

We had several great egg hunts too. One at the one at preschool, one at elementary school, one at church... and one at a relatives lovely home. Lots of eggs. Lots of tempting candy... oh goodness.

Poke My Eyes Out

Good Grief! The traffic was terrible this morning. 150 traffic lights out, streets closed from storm damage, falling glass in those areas and a bridge closing due to not passing recent inspections. Good Grief! So since I was just sitting there, why not snap some pics?

This is me waiting near a down tree near historic Oakland Cemetery. The cemetery lost some historic monuments to if I hear the news correctly.

This is my view waiting to move near Underground Atlanta. Like the crack in my windshield?

This is me waiting just before the World Congress Center, see the windows I circled....

This is me not moving in front of the World Congress Center. Check out the plywood covering missing windows. And one window they haven't gotten to yet.

Oh, Happy St. Paddy's Day! I need a green beer after this traffic. Too bad I don't drink.

Doodle Door

I pulled apart a piece of furniture and have re-purposed all the wood as canvases. This is an old door front, I think I'll call this one French Connection.

And I'm still trying to figure out what the best use of the little table I painted will be. A Friend suggested placing this clock on it. What do you think?

A Sweet Gift from a Blog Buddy

I'm a lucky girl. My friend Sandi at whistlestopcooking sent me this beautiful apron. I feel inspired to go in the kitchen and whip up some shepherds pie... for the big holiday coming up that celebrates my heritage... OK very distant heritage, but it's still heritage.

A cake and A little Alfredo

Well the reception/shower went great this weekend. Everyone had a wonderful time. The bride and groom actually exchanged vows a month ago. They also surprised us with news of a new grand child on the way, number two. The biggest part of the surprise... #2 will be here in 4 months. Yep, she's months. We are hoping for a girl. One of my best friends helped me with the event. We had it in the evening and served authentic Italian stuffed giant pasta shells and Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken(thanks Giada De Laurentiis). All topped off with wedding cake and saw dust salad(recipe to come). I'll return to my diet Monday.

Be Sweet,

Heather
