Plans and a weekend of prep

Well I've sketched what I'd like to do with our eat in kitchen area. Basically, create a window seat area with a narrow bookcase on each side. Our table would be placed in front of it.. so the kids would have a comfy spot to eat breakfast.
I have a lot of cleaning and prep to do this weekend in prep for next weekends Wedding reception/celebration for my step daughter who got married a few weeks ago. I'll post some picks of the festivities afterward.

The sketch looks great. I love the idea of the window seat and the narrow bookshelves. (The window seat can also provide extra storage.)

Enjoy the wedding reception!

Love the sketch- we have a client that constructed that exact same set-up, and kari had it in her last home! It is beautiful (and everyone wants a spot on the comfy window seat!) We love the warm colors too!
Can't wait to hear about the reception!

Can't wait to see the pictures!

That kitchen looks cozy- I could curl up on that window seat and watch you cooking in your apron.

I am new to blogging...so nice to find you!
Your sketch is great and what a fun plan!! I've always loved the window seat idea. Are you using the same color scheme as the sketch? Looks like a modern day Carl Larrson eating nook.

Thanks Flower, I now have a new favorite artist. The colors put me in mind of van gogh or Maxfield Parrish. But now Mr. Larrson too. I'm going to have to see more of his work... but the quick search results were beautiful. Welcome to Blogland as Kari and Kijsa call it. Lots of Kindred Spirits here.
