Best Friends
These are the pet portraits I've been commissioned to create. I'm very excited about this new adventure into commissioned pieces. It's so exciting to have a place to sale my art.
I'm also exploring more utilitarian uses for my art. And someone prepaid me to create one for her after seeing me carrying my work in progress. Which by the way is now complete. I had a lot of fun thinking about what was rolling around in the bottom of our purses. I chose to leave out the extra socks in case of McDonald's playground, the paint brush and pans just in case the muse strikes, and the zillion post-its.

No Type at 4 AM for Me
Well I made a huge embarrassing whoops... at 4 A.M. Let' say from here on I'll paint but hold the type for non-blurry peepers. Case and point the Victrola painting below. See the highlighted area.
I'm excited to announce that Cindy at The Plum Tree
is now featuring my art in her shop. How cool. I'm honored. It's a really fun place. Unfortunately the above whoops landed there Saturday morning. I'll be back to get it Tuesday. I think I owe her an original for her home to make up for it.
Here are a few of the other pieces I dropped off that morning.
We also celebrated my youngest daughters graduation from preschool. She did great!

too busy
Well I've been burning it at both ends so I'll post pics soon. I'm working on 5 watercolor paintings and three acrylic on board. As soon as I come up for air I'll share details on what these are for. Of course I'm doing this after my lovely one hour commute home from down town Atlanta, and after bathing and feeding my sweet babies. My sweet babies that are ever so patient with "don't jump on the bed, mommies painting". Or hold on... let me just finish this one thing. And my sweet patient hubby who doesn't mind an occasional watercolor splatter his way as he tries to fall asleep. I know I could go to my desk... but the bed is so comfy.

Supplies I'm using
What supplies do I reach for the most lately? My little portable watercolor pans. They stack into a neat little tower of 4 pans. I've also gotten the bug for stamped type lately. I've found I prefer a little water bottle to rinse my brushes. You can get quite aggressive swishing the brush, but the shape of the bottle prevents much splatter. And of course my Moleskine sketch book and pen are always in my purse. That's what I'm using at the moment. How about you?

Fairy Business
A little Fairy business is starting to trickle my way. I started fairyme about a year ago. I haven't promoted it much so I shouldn't be surprised nothing much has come of it. But as a mom, I think given the right audience it could be a good business. What do you ladies think?
